Lennox Lewis Sums Up Mike Tyson’s Performance Against Jake Paul In Just 3 Words

After months of build-up, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul finally entered the ring together this past Friday night.

The boxing world had been split down the middle about this controversial fight. It was a coming together of two men at very different stages of their fighting careers with one man being nearly 60 and almost 20 years out of the professional ring, and one not yet 30 having had just 12 fights.

Tyson, the former youngest-ever world heavyweight champion, looked every bit his age as the fight progressed because despite his well-toned physique, he was unable to move around the ring anything like he once did and struggled to get off many shots.

Paul however picked his shots well and stayed mobile across the eight two-minute rounds. He landed enough with the 14 oz gloves to take a wide points win at the conclusion of the fight.

Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans, former Tyson victor and undisputed heavyweight king Lennox Lewis was asked about the contest in the immediate aftermath and despite Tyson’s lacklustre performance Lewis said he was ‘proud of him’.

Lewis added elsewhere that he was glad his old foe heard the final bell.

“Great fight and a great event and I’m just glad nobody got knocked out.”

Many others have given their reaction to the fight since it finished in Arlington, Texas, with many showing Paul respect for holding back as the fight went on.

Paul admitted afterwards that he was scared about hitting Tyson in case he got hurt back, but also said he never felt the full force of Tyson’s power at any point in the contest.
