Liam Smith is the only man to have knocked out Chris Eubank Jr and has been speaking about his old rival’s chances against Conor Benn.
Smith and Eubank fought twice in 2023. The first clash came shortly after Eubank had lost a considerable amount of weight to make a fight with Benn. However, Benn failed two drug tests late in the day and that fight in October 2022 was pulled at the last minute.
At the start of the New Year, Smith was the new opponent and he made short work of Eubank, knocking him down and out in the 4th round. It was a surprise result, and the first time Eubank Jr had ever looked hurt, let alone stopped.
There was an immediate rematch a few months later and the second time around it was Eubank who got the knockout win in the 10th round.
Eubank fought just once last year when he stopped Kamil Szeremeta inside 7 rounds in October. Next up on April 26, he will finally settle his long-time rivalry with Benn.
Ahead of that, Smith predicts a Eubank win but also gave his view that either man could get the stoppage.
“I still pick Chris on points. But I won’t be surprised if Conor catches Chris and knocks Eubank out. And I won’t be surprised if Chris stops Conor. Conor has been down off littler people than Chris.”
