Major Update Provided On Carl Froch Comeback Fight: “That’s What I’ve Been Told”

Carl Froch has long teased a comeback to the boxing ring.

‘The Cobra’ has now been retired for more than 11 years. His last outing was his most famous – a clinical once-punch knockout of George Groves at Wembley Stadium back in 2014 to retain his super-middleweight world title and put an end to what had been a fierce rivalry after a controversial win in their first fight.

Since then, Froch has remained a vocal commentator and pundit, often getting into online beef with the likes of Anthony Joshua, Jake Paul and John Fury.

His latest rivalry has been with Liverpudlian Darren Till, a former UFC fighter turned boxer. In his last fight, Till stopped Luke Rockhold to go 3-0 with two KO wins.

Speaking to iFL TV, Till outlined the chances of a fight with Froch happening and what he is being told by his team, with many already backing Froch to win.

“I’ve been told that the powers that be believe it’s going to happen so I only have to go off what they say and hopefully they’re not lying to me about it. This can genuinely happen, I wanna make it happen, I will campaign and do my bits. But there has to be a bit of back and forth and Carl’s got to get in the mix with this but he’s not at the moment.

“I’ve heard DAZN really want to make this so let’s give it more legs and give it a date. If I had to break it down in my own head percentage-wise I’d say 50% it’s got a possibility. It’s more on Carl, and the powers that be, I’m ready to do it.”

Unlikely match-ups like this have become more and more commonplace in recent times, whether that be Jake Paul taking on Mike Tyson, Joey Essex making his ring debut recently or Manny Pacquiao returning to the sport aged 46 back in July.

Whether or not this one between Froch and Till comes off is likely down to whether or not the money can be found to lure Froch back into the gym.
