Major Update On Tyson Fury’s Comeback Revealed: “We Have A Big Surprise”

Tyson Fury has been retired since January this year.

‘The Gypsy King’ had been on a good run since his comeback after years away fighting mental health demons after his first world title win on away soil versus Wladimir Klitschko back in 2015.

He had beaten the likes of Derek Chisora and Dillian Whyte and won two of three epic fights with former WBC ruler Deontay Wilder to regain a world championship belt.

However, in early 2024, he took on former undisputed cruiserweight turned unified heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk and was beaten, as then again more conclusively in the rematch in December last year.

That left him beltless and is what sent him into retirement, with many fans left disappointed he had swerved a fight with long-time British rival and fellow former champion Joshua.

A return has once again been teased though, after Saudi chief Turki Alalshikh was speaking to DAZN about his potential return.

“I am talking now with Eddie [Hearn], we have next year two big events here in London, it will be a surprise. We’ll have [Anthony Joshua] in our country [Saudi Arabia] in February, then there is the big fight, one of the great fights in the history of boxing, it will be here in London, maybe in September.

“I won’t give you the answer [on Joshua v Fury] We’ll have in April, maybe in Tottenham, big fight, then in September me and him [Eddie Hearn] surprise for the fans in England.”

Although nothing is confirmed, it seems as though plans are being made for both Joshua and Fury to have run-out fights next year, as Joshua has not fought since being KOed last September.

He will be involved in a shock fight with Jake Paul in December, with that and then a bout in February seemingly a way of building towards what would be an epic clash against Fury in the later part of next year.
