Tyson Fury has been retired since making an abrupt announcement back in January.

‘The Gypsy King’ first reached the very top of the sport when he became a unified world heavyweight champion after beating Wladimir Klitschko on away soil out in Germany in 2015.

After that, he had time away to battle mental health demons, but then came back and again reached the summit with two wins out of three against American puncher Deontay Wilder.

He has also beaten the likes of Otto Wallin, Derek Chisora and Dillian Whyte before twice fighting Oleksandr Usyk, the first for undisputed heavyweight honours. He lost both fights on points, although he has contested both scorecards, and hung up his gloves back in January.

Speaking on iFL TV, promoter Frank Warren was asked whether or not ‘The Gypsy King’ will make a ring return and responded positively after recent conversation. Notably, Warren had previously avoided answering such questions.

“I think he will come back, I do think he wants to come back, and will come back, but as I keep saying that will be his choice when he’s ready to do it. But like I say it won’t be this year, it will be next year.

“He’s larger than life, he’s a character, but more importantly, he can fight. Forget people’s views on decisions, they’re bloody good. Very, very entertaining, good quality fights. He never let you get bored in any of his fights.”

Fury has spoken of wanting a trilogy fight with Usyk, though fans would much rather see a showdown with long-time British rival Anthony Joshua, who is of a similar age and also without a belt right now.
