Paulie Malignaggi has shared his thoughts on the possibility of Jake Paul pulling off a monumental victory over Anthony Joshua next month.

As revealed last week, Paul will go up against two-time unified world heavyweight champion Joshua on Friday December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, with the event broadcast live on Netflix.

Most Valuable Promotions CEO Nakisa Bidarian has confirmed that the controversial match-up will in fact be a sanctioned professional contest, with both fighters required to wear regulation 10oz gloves on fight night.

Joshua has been out of action since he was beaten for the fourth time as a professional by former IBF heavyweight champion and countryman Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium back in September of 2024,

Speaking to Seconds Out, two-weight world champion Malignaggi jokingly claimed that the only way he believes Paul would be capable of defeating Joshua is with ‘a gun’.

“How would he have done it? Jake Paul win? A gun. A gun, I mean I can’t think of anything like the only thing that’s preventing me from betting everything I own on Anthony Joshua is the fact that I think this is so ridiculous that I’m missing something. I think there’s gotta be something I’m missing that then the laugh will be on me.”

‘The Problem Child’ was initially pencilled in to face Gervonta Davis earlier this month, but the exhibition bout was scrapped after ‘Tank’ was named in a civil lawsuit regarding domestic allegations.

Instead, Paul is now preparing to face an established former world heavyweight champion in Joshua who has already spoken out and said he is going to ‘break Paul’s face’ when they lock horns in just four weeks.
