Two-weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi has shared an interesting update on a potential ring return for Errol Spence Jr.

Former WBC, WBA and IBF world welterweight champion Spence is yet to make a return to the sport since he suffered a ninth round stoppage defeat to countryman Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford in their undisputed showdown back in July of 2023.

Spence had been in line to make his long-awaited comeback against reigning WBC super-welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora in the early stages of 2025, but their planned bout fell through after ‘The Truth’ revealed he would not be ready to face his countryman.

As rumours begin to circulate once again about a return to action for Spence, retired former world champion Malignaggi has shared details of a potential opponent for the 35-year-old.

Speaking to Boxing Scene, Malignaggi revealed there is a possibility that Spence could actually be in line to face former WBO super-welterweight champion Tim Tszyu next.

“We’re talking about things that are [happening]. A rumour here down under before we went on air is Tim Tszyu versus Errol Spence. If that is being rumoured, I wouldn’t put it past PBC to offer Charlo for Jaron Ennis.”

Tszyu was dethroned of his WBO world title at 154lbs in March 2024 when he was outpointed in their first encounter at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The Australian star faced Fundora for the second time last July, suffering a seventh round stoppage defeat to ‘The Towering Inferno’ in his attempt at capturing the WBC super-welterweight title.
