Malik Scott Sparred Oleksandr Usyk And Has Now Made His Daniel Dubois Rematch Prediction

Malik Scott has spoken about the undisputed showdown between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois, which is now just weeks away.

The two men first fought back in August 2023. At that stage, Usyk was still relatively new to the banner division but had already twice beaten Anthony Joshua on points to become the unified heavyweight champion.

Dubois was very much in the learning stages of his career, and though he boxed well early and even had the Ukrainian down with a shot that was ruled low, he was eventually stopped in the ninth round.

Since then, however, he has defeated Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Joshua, all via impressive stoppages, to become the IBF champion and a man in form, while Usyk has twice beaten Tyson Fury on points but is fast approaching 40 years old.

Speaking to Seconds Out, Deontay Wilder’s former coach and Usyk’s former sparring partner Scott was asked who will come out on top of the much-anticipated rematch.

“Tough one, cause Dubois is a bit different. Usyk is who he is. If I was a betting man I would have to go with Usyk, though, ’cause he always finds a way to win. But Dubois is a serious threat right now, easily in the top heavyweights of right now. Big, dangerous puncher and he got a good coach in Don Charles behind him.”

Whoever wins all four world title belts at Wembley Stadium in July 19 will have their hands full with mandatory challengers, the first of which is Joseph Parker.
