Malik Scott believes someone is getting knocked out when Joseph Parker takes on Fabio Wardley.

This heavyweight showdown takes place in just over one week between two in-form men. Parker is more experienced and has been in the game longer, and in his last three he has beaten Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang and Martin Bakole.

Wardley had only a few white collar fights before turning pro but has come good recently with a draw, then a KO win over Olympian Frazer Clarke and a KO win over Justis Huni in his last outing, despite being down on the cards at the time the end came late in the contest.

One man who knows the heavyweight division well is Scott, who competed for a number of years himself before then turning to coaching, most notably working with former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

Speaking to Canada Casino, Scott gave his breakdown of the contest and views it as a battle of two punchers.

“Wardley is a pay-per-view fight because you’re dealing with a knockout artist and someone who can knock you out. Wardley is a knockout artist. Joseph Parker is someone who can knock you out, but he’s very technically sound. Parker has tons of experience and has been in with the best. In that fight, it’s pay-per-view worthy because you can almost predict someone’s going to sleep.”

He then made his prediction and sided with the more experienced of the two.

“I would have to favour Parker in it, but I’m not shocked with anything that happens when you’re dealing with a live wire like Fabio.”

Whoever comes out on top will be the mandatory challenger for Oleksandr Usyk’s WBO belt, which is a strap Parker owned almost a decade ago before losing it to Anthony Joshua in 2016.
