Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder continue to be linked to a fight with one another.

Joshua and Wilder are both former long-time world heavyweight champions, but now find themselves in tough positions after some difficult results in recent years.

In his last outing, ‘AJ’ missed out on the chance to become a three-time world heavyweight champion as he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium in September.

As for Wilder, he was victorious in his last bout, stopping the unheralded Tyrrell Herndon in the seventh round of their clash in June, but prior to that ‘The Bronze Bomber’ had been defeated in four of his last five contests.

One man who has shared the ring with both Joshua and Wilder is former European champion Robert Helenius, who has beaten the likes of Derek Chisora and Adam Kownacki during his career.

Helenius was knocked out cold in the first round by Wilder in October 2022, before also being brutally stopped by Joshua in the seventh round when they clashed in August 2023.

Having taken on both men, Helenius once told FightHype how he feels the fight would play out, admitting it would be difficult to pick a winner.

“I think it would be an interesting fight. Of course, against Wilder the one round that it took it was like an accident [from me.] I didn’t think he could fight on his back foot and he trained that, so he’s also adapting [as a] boxer.

“[Against Joshua] I feel a little bit sorry that I didn’t train for a longer time. I would have been in better shape and could have gone all rounds with him.

It’s an interesting question. It would be a very, very successful fight for both I think.”

While Helenius found the potential fight tough to predict, current heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk didn’t hesitate to pick his winner.
