- A huge heavyweight battle will take place this summer when Moses Itauma goes up against Dillian Whyte.
The two British fighters are set to meet in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on August 16, in a bout that could move the winner into world title contention.
Itauma is widely regarded as one of the best prospects in all of boxing, having won all 12 of his professional fights to date, with 10 of them coming by knockout.
He is just 20-years-old, and has claimed stoppage victories over the likes of Demsey McKean and Mariusz Wach since first moving into the paid ranks back in January 2023.
As for Whyte, he is looking to get back to the top of the division after he unsuccessfully challenged Tyson Fury for his WBC heavyweight title in April 2022.
He has claimed wins over fighters such as Joseph Parker, Derek Chisora and Alexander Povetkin in his career, but has fought on just two occasions since November 2022.
One man who knows what it feels like to stand opposite Itauma and Whyte is former two-weight world champion Lawrence Okolie, who now campaigns at heavyweight himself and has sparred both fighters in the past.
With that in mind, Okolie told The Stomping Ground that he sees a stoppage victory coming quickly for the younger of the two men.
“Moses is on a great run, a good trajectory, so if they do fight, I think Moses will KO him in quick fashion, so yeah, good luck to him.”
Okolie isn’t the only Brit to be backing Itauma to win by knockout, with Dave Allen also having the same prediction.
