Heavyweight Who Knocked Out Deontay Wilder Says He’ll Fight Moses Itauma: “I’ll Sign The Contract”

Moses Itauma has been told by a tough world heavyweight contender that he is ready to fight him next.

Itauma is one of the breakout stars of the last 12 months. The 20-year-old is being fast-tracked to the top and has kept on knocking out the opponents put in front of him, with 11 of his 13 fights now ending inside the distance.

Even more impressively, nine of those stoppage victories have come in the first two rounds, and last time out he destroyed former world title challenger and notoriously tough heavyweight Dillian Whyte inside the first two minutes.

Although he has said he is now ready for Oleksandr Usyk, his team are building him more steadily but are struggling to find his next opponent.

One man may be keen on the clash though, as speaking to BoxNation, Zhilei Zhang was first asked if he had ever been offered the Itauma fight.

“Moses Itauma is a great fighter. I watched a couple of his fights and he knocked out Dillian Whyte in one round. Fantastic, but for the time being, right now, we haven’t received anything from Itauma in terms of fighting him.”

He was then asked if he would be open to it if he was sent an offer.

“Anyone who wants to fight me, I want to see that contract, I will sign it.”

Zhang has stopped Joe Joyce twice, Deontay Wilder, and lost on points to Joseph Parker in recent times, so would present a tough night for Itauma, but would also be a good indication of whether the Brit is truly ready to step up to world title level in 2026.
