Anthony Joshua is just several weeks away from making his return to action.

The two-time unified world heavyweight champion is gearing up to clash with Jake Paul on Friday December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, the latest high-profile boxing event to be shown exclusively on Netflix.

‘AJ’ last fought back in September of 2024 when he was stopped in the fifth round of his showdown with former IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in London.

Prior to that, the only man who had stopped Joshua was former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr, who handed ‘AJ’ the first defeat of his professional career back in June 2019 before losing in their rematch six months later.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Ruiz appeared to give some advice to Paul ahead of his showdown with Joshua, as he claims ‘The Problem Child’ could do ‘good damage’ if he is able to land on the Brit.

“Just get him with the right hand. That’s what Jake Paul is looking for the right hand, and if he lands he could probably do good damage, so a lot of people underestimate Jake Paul but in reality he’s a good fighter and he’s dedicated, and that’s what I like about him.”

The controversial meeting between ‘AJ’ and Paul will be a sanctioned eight-round professional bout, rather than an exhibition contest.

Both fighters will be required to wear 100oz gloves on fight night, a decision that will undoubtedly play into the hands of hard-hitting Joshua, but one Paul has said will help him shock the world and score a knockout – something Ruiz clearly sees as a possibility.
