Terence Crawford will be stepping up two weight divisions to take on Canelo Alvarez in September.

Two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world collide when Canelo defends his undisputed super-middleweight titles against Crawford at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday 13 September.

The fight sees Crawford jump up from 154lbs to 168lbs for the bout, as he looks to become undisputed in a third division having already achieved it at both super-lightweight and welterweight.

One major talking point heading in has been whether or not ‘Bud’ will be able to have any power that can trouble Canelo in the super-middleweight division, and one of his sparring partners has now weighed in on how he is finding it sharing the ring with Crawford.

Misael Rodriguez is an undefeated fighter with a 15-0 record, 7 of those wins coming by knockout, and was recently brought into Crawford’s camp to help him prepare for Canelo.

Speaking to ESNews, he explained how the spar went and admitted that ‘Bud’ still carried his power up at super-middleweight.

“It was very good. He’s one of the best boxers in the world. He’s not an easy fighter to face. I feel his punches. He works straight through the body.”

With just over a month to go until the Canelo vs. Crawford showdown, some of boxing’s biggest names continue to offer their predictions for how the match-up will go, and four-weight world champion Mikey Garcia is the latest to reveal who he thinks will come out on top.
