Manny Pacquiao Names The Biggest Puncher He Ever Faced: “I Can Still Feel Those Shots”

Manny Pacquiao is a generational great who fought just about every big-name talent he could across several different weight divisions.

In all, the Filipino legend won twelve world titles in a record eight weight classes. He did so with incredibly fast hands and a non-stop work rate, great footwork and enough power to stop many of his opponents.

He has plenty of epic sagas with Mexican boxers Marco Antonio Barrera whom he beat twice, Erik Morales who he lost to once but beat twice, and Juan Manuel Marquez who he beat twice, lost to and drew with.

He also fought the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Shane Mosley, Tim Bradley and of course Floyd Mayweather in what was billed as the ‘Fight of the Century’.

Taking part in the Ring Magazine’s Best I’ve Faced feature, Pacquiao detailed the man who hit him hardest in all of his professional fights and went with former Puerto Rican world champion Miguel Cotto.

“I can still feel some of those punches he threw at me. Staying on the ropes is not the best place to be when you are fighting him. He’s also accurate. He’s incredible.”

Pacquiao fought Cotto in 2009 for his WBO welterweight title, with ‘PacMan’ securing a TKO finish in the last round.

The 45-year-old hasn’t fought since a points loss to Yordenis Ugas in 2021, though tried hard this year to get a place at the Olympic Games in Paris, and has often been linked to fights with the likes of Amir Khan and Connor Benn, though most recently it was claimed he would get a shot at WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios.
