Manny Pacquiao Has No Doubt Who Wins Gervonta Davis vs Naoya Inoue: “He Fights Like I Used To”

A potential super-fight betweenGervonta Davis and Naoya Inoue has long been talked about.

‘Tank’ Davis remains unbeaten through all 31 of his professional outings, where he currently reigns as the WBA world lightweight champion. The 30-year-old from Baltimore is said to be preparing for a rematch with Lamont Roach Jr after their controversial first encounter in March ended in a draw.

Inoue, who is more commonly known as ‘The Monster’, currently reigns as the undisputed super-bantamweight, having already accomplished this feat at bantamweight. The 32-year-old from Japan is unbeaten in 30 fights, knocking out 27 of the opponents he has faced since his debut back in 2012.

In a media scrum for his shock world title return against Mario Barrios, eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao was asked to predict what he believes would happen if Davis and Inoue were to face each other at some point in the future.

“Inoue. Inoue is fast. Inoue’s style is like when I was young.”

Inoue made the most recent defence of his undisputed super-bantamweight championship against Ramon Cardenas in Las Vegas on May 4, getting up off the canvas in the second round to stop the 29-year-old from Texas in the eighth round of their bout at the T-Mobile Arena.

‘The Monster’ is now expected to return to the ring before the end of the year, with rumours of a highly anticipated showdown against former unified super-bantamweight champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev currently circulating.

As for Davis, the 30-year-old is reportedly set to face Roach in their rematch in Las Vegas on August 16, with an official announcement set to be made in the coming weeks.
