The last man to face Floyd Mayweather in a competitive boxing match has predicted what will happen when he takes on Manny Pacquiao.
Mayweather is regarded as one of the best boxers of his generation, while he calls himself ‘The Best Ever.’
The slick American famously retired unbeaten after 50 fights and won world titles spanning five weight classes from super featherweight all the way up to light middleweight.
In that time, he was named Fighter of the Decade and was often ranked as the pound-for-pound ruler. He beat the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Canelo Alvarez, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez and many other top names of the day, but one fight stands above them all for the eyeballs it attracted and the money it made.
That was his first fight with Pacquiao in 2015, although it came when both men were past their prime. Mayweather won via unanimous decision with the scorecards reading 118–110, 116–112, and 116–112.
In a new post on Instagram, former MMA champion McGregor was bold in his prediction for the rematch, which takes place on September 19, 2026.
“Floyd beats him easy. See ya soon, bro.”
Mayweather, who is now 49 years old, last fought in 2017 when he knocked out Conor McGregor in what was a straightforward win against a boxing novice.
47-year-old Pacquiao beat the likes of Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman after that, then lost to Yordenis Ugas in 2021 and had four years out until he returned to fight to a draw with WBC ruler Mario Barrios last summer.
