The boxing world continues to react to Terence Crawford‘s stunning victory against Canelo Alvarez on Saturday.
Crawford left no doubt on who is the current number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world by defeating Canelo at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, becoming the undisputed super-middleweight champion in the process.
The American won the fight by unanimous decision, with the three judges scoring it 115-113, 115-113 and 116-112 in his favour, though a lot of observers felt that the contest could have been scored even wider.
Heading into the bout, the boxing world was split with who they thought would come out on top, but it appears that boxing legend Floyd Mayweather knew exactly how the clash would unfold.
In reaction to the result, Mayweather posted on social media a bet slip showing he had placed a $50,000 bet on Crawford to defeat Canelo, earning $124,000 dollars on the underdog victory in the process.

The victory for Crawford has seen him extend his unbeaten record to 42-0, just eight fights shy of Mayweather’s perfect 50-0 record that he retired with in 2017, though age may not be on the side of ‘Bud’ in any attempts to reach 50-0 himself due to now being 37-years-old.
Mayweather took on Canelo back in September 2013, winning on points to hand the Mexican his first defeat. After coming up short against Crawford, Alvarez now finds himself with three losses, having also been beaten by Dmitry Bivol in 2022.
With Mayweather and Crawford regarded as two of the best fighters in recent history, Canelo has revealed which of the two men he deemed to be the best after facing them both.
