Heavyweight Champion Michael Moorer Has No Doubt Who Wins Fury vs Usyk: “He Stops Him In Round 10”

Former heavyweight champion Michael Moorer believes he knows exactly when the rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will be over.

The first fight was a gripping contest with plenty of back and forth, but it was the naturally smaller man and former undisputed cruiserweight champion Usyk who imposed himself most.

His huge left hand and following flurry of punches in the 9th round was enough to send Fury back towards the rope to receive a standing eight count which gave Usyk enough to win on points after the final bell, and now the pair will do it all again for three of the four world titles.

Moorer beat Evander Holyfield in 1994 to become heavyweight champion but is arguably best known as being the man who was knocked out by George Foreman in a fight which saw ‘Big George’ become a world champion at the age of 45 years old, and is still the oldest man to ever do so at heavyweight. He spoke to BoxNation about why he thinks Usyk will get the win.

“Nine times out of ten Fury has sparred with southpaws, he thinks he’s done everything right to fight a southpaw. SugarHill has done a great job with him but my thing is Usyk has the smarts to do so much more.

Fury back in the day he wasn’t a real boxer guy, he was out of shape, but Usyk was a guy that was always in shape always doing the right thing. I think Usyk will stop him probably 10th, 11th round. I think Usyk will win.

He was then asked if Usyk was unbeatable.

“In this era, probably, because he knows how to fight.”

Fury will be hoping to prove that is not the case on December 21 but Usyk has already emerged looking in superb shape with less than two weeks to go.
