Mick Conlan Predicts Derek Chisora vs Deontay Wilder: “It’s A Dangerous Fight”

Michael Conlan has made his prediction for Deontay Wilder‘s fight against Derek Chisora.

This is a heavyweight showdown between two real veterans of the sport. Both have had storied careers with plenty of ups and downs, though it is only Wilder who has been world champion before.

His famously powerful right hand ruled over the division for many years and knocked out every man he faced. That was until he came up against Tyson Fury, who drew with Wilder, then stopped him twice to dethrone him and start something of a decline in form that also led to losses to Zhilei Zhang and Joseph Parker.

‘Del Boy’, like Wilder, has fought 49 times and is now into his forties, but has recently put together a trio of wins.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Conlan thinks that might mean he has enough to win this fight.

“I think Chisora is going to win you know, but it’s a dangerous fight. It’s so dangerous cause Wilder has that switch where he can just turn you off, immediately. It’s diminished a bit.

“His confidence in it has gone, and they you’ve got ‘Del Boy’, I don’t like how he’s still going at this stage and taking so much shipments in the fight but at the same time he’s a tough man and he’s not going to stop coming forward and how he comes forwards he’s a bear in there and he’s just going to take you apart and rip you to shreds.

“It’s interesting because we know what Wilder can do, but also we know what Chisora can do and it’s probably a crossroads fight, so to say. Whoever loses, it’s over, but if Chisora loses, it probably isn’t over, he’s probably going to go again. It’s crazy.”

The promoter of the contest is pushing for a world title to be on the line, though it’s more likely that pride is the one thing both men end up fighting for.
