The last two men to face Jake Paul inside a boxing ring are Mike Tyson and Mike Perry.
Paul defeated boxing legend Tyson in November in what was the former world heavyweight champion’s first professional contest since way back in 2005.
‘Iron Mike’ was 58-years-old heading into the fight, and looked every bit of that age, with Paul securing a dominant unanimous decision victory after their eight two-minute round contest.
The fight was originally set to take place in July, before Tyson had to postpone the bout due to an ulcer flare-up, which he has since revealed that he almost died of as a result.
Paul remained on the July date, and that allowed former UFC star Mike Perry to make the switch from MMA and replace Tyson in the bout.
Perry was knocked down several times in the contest at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, and was eventually stopped in the sixth round.
Having known first hand what it is like to share a ring with Paul, Perry has now summed up Tyson’s performance in just four words whilst speaking on the Overdogs Podcast.
“He didn’t go down.”
Perry then compared the performance from ‘Iron Mike’ to his own display against Paul.
“Me and Mike went the same time. Eight two minute rounds, and I did 16 minutes with Jake. He stopped me, he put me down there at 16 minutes.”
The fight between Tyson and Paul also saw the ex-heavyweight champion repeatedly biting down on his gloves, and his former trainer Teddy Atlas has now explained the real reason behind the bizarre decision.
