Heavyweight legend Mike Tyson has shared his final thoughts on the upcoming ‘super-fight’ between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.
Their monumental showdown has captured the attention of boxing fans and analysts all over the world, with many considering it to be one of the biggest fights to have ever been made.
Canelo has proved himself to be arguably the best super-middleweight of his generation since making the move up from 160lbs back in 2018, racking up victories over the likes of Gennady Golovkin, Caleb Plant and Jermell Charlo.
With the fight just over one week away, former undisputed heavyweight king Tyson has made his final prediction for the bout.
Speaking to The Big Podcast With Shaq, Tyson admitted that whilst he would like to see ‘Bud’ Crawford get the victory over Canelo, he admits that he cannot see his fellow countryman defeating the Mexican great.
“It’s tricky, I want Crawford to win, but it doesn’t look like it is going to happen.
“I would like for that to happen, but this guy (Canelo) is a hard puncher; he is a smart fighter. I am just curious, I just wanna see it. I wanna be there to see it.”
Whilst Crawford is faced with a test of the highest magnitude when he clashes with Canelo, victory for the 37-year-old from Omaha would see him become the first male fighter in the sport’s history to become four-belt undisputed champion in three divisions, having already achieved this feat at super-lightweight and welterweight.
