Mike Tyson Gives His Honest Verdict On ‘History Making’ Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford Fight

Talk of a potential Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez versus Terence Crawford fight will not go away.

Both of these boxers are some of the most accomplished active fighters in the sport right now. ‘Canelo’ is the current unified super middleweight world champion who has also held belts in several other weights from light middleweight to light heavyweight including unifying titles in two of those divisions and lineal titles in two.

Crawford most recently won a world title up at 154 lbs at the first time of asking by beating Israil Madrimov having last summer cleaned out the welterweight division to become undisputed with a victory over Errol Spence jr. He has also previously been undisputed lightweight champion.

Right now there is lots of talk about the two meeting in the ring despite there being a considerable natural size difference, but not everyone is convinced.

Speaking to Impaulsive, former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson isn’t so sure it’s the fight the people want to see despite the fact that Crawford continues to push for it.

“I support Crawford and ‘Canelo’ both but, I don’t think [the people] want to see him fight ‘Canelo’. You think they want to see him fight ‘Canelo’? Well, to make history it’s worth doing.”

Tyson is making his own form of history in November when he returns to the ring for his first professional fight in more than 20 years to take on a man half his age in Jake Paul.
