Mike Tyson fought a total of 58 people in his career and he has named the one fighter that took his power better than anyone else.

After turning pro at 18 in 1985, Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion in history at just 20 years old by defeating Trevor Berbick by TKO in the second round to win the WBC heavyweight title.

Tyson was known for his one-punch knockout power, particularly with his right uppercut and left hook, and stopped 12 of his first 19 opponents in the first round. It wasn’t until his 20th fight that he went past six rounds.

By 1987, ‘Iron’ Mike had unified the WBC, WBA, and IBF heavyweight titles by defeating James “Bonecrusher” Smith and Tony Tucker to become the undisputed champion.

He suffered an infamous upset loss to Buster Douglas in 1990 and went on to have two fights with Evander Holyfield, losing the first by knockout in the 11th round and then getting disqualified in the second fight for biting a chunk out of his opponent’s ear. He also lost to Lennox Lewis in 2003, and retired in 2005 after two more back-to-back defeats.

Speaking to The Ring Magazine for their ‘Best I Faced’ feature, he revealed who had the strongest chin.

“I hit Jose Ribalta with everything, and he took everything and kept coming back for more.”

The pair fought in 1986 when the then-unknown but tough Ribalta was knocked down three times and eventually lost by knockout in the 10th round having taken 220 punches.

Despite being 58, Tyson is now out of retirement and in camp for his eight-round professional contest with Jake Paul in November.
