Mike Tyson was one of the most feared fighters of all time, but has now named one current fighter he would be scared to go up against.
During his 58 professional fights he stepped in the ring against the likes of Trevor Berbick, Michael Spinks, Larry Holmes, Frank Bruno, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis and earned himself the nickname of ‘the Baddest Man on the Planet’.
Tyson recently stated that former super-middleweight champion, David Benavidez, was his favourite fighter and gave him the nickname ‘The Mexican Monster’.
When asked by ES News how he came up with that name for Benavidez, Tyson admitted that even he would be afraid to fight the 27-year-old.
“He’s so underrated but so over-polarised here. Listen, I’d be afraid to fight him too if I was in that division. No one even has a chance against him, and I’m talking facts.”
In a separate interview Tyson is backing Benavidez to beat everyone he faces.
“He beats everybody because of his attitude. He was little fat kid and he wanted to prove himself to the world. I think he beats everybody he gets into the ring with. He can beat everybody, my money is with Benavidez until he gets beat and then if he gets beat I’m still with him.”
As for Tyson, he returns to the ring next month for his first professional fight in nearly twenty years when he takes on YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.
