Mike Tyson Sums Up Terence Crawford’s Chances Against Canelo In 3 Words After His Last Performance

Mike Tyson remains one of the biggest names in boxing – alongside the likes of Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez.

Tyson returned to the ring in November for the first time in 20 years for a controversial fight against Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

It wasn’t to be for Tyson, with the now 58-year-old suffering a unanimous decision defeat, but the fight was a massive commercial success and one of the biggest events of the year.

Attention has now turned to what potential huge fights fans may see in 2025, with Crawford against Canelo one of the main options.

Canelo holds the WBC, WBA and WBO super-middleweights titles, and made the latest defence of those belts when he beat Edgar Berlanga in September.

Crawford is the reigning WBA super-welterweight champion after defeating Israil Madrimov in August, having moved up to 154lbs for that bout, but now wants to step up a further two divisions to face Canelo.

The performance against Madrimov received some criticism, and Tyson needed just three words to sum up how he thinks ‘Bud’ would do against Canelo whilst talking to the Come And Talk 2 Me Podcast.

“Too much weight.”

Tyson then explained further how the fight against Madrimov made him not want to see Crawford face Canelo.

“I don’t like that fight. He had a close fight with the last guy he fought [Madrimov] because he was big and really awkward. He shouldn’t have even fought that guy.”

‘Iron Mike’ isn’t the only man to weigh in on the proposed Canelo vs. Crawford bout, with a man who has sparred both giving his defiant prediction.
