Jake Paul had his controversial fight with Mike Tyson pushed back but decided to keep the date and welcome MMA fighter and bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry back to the pro game.

Paul-Tyson was originally scheduled to take place this weekend but, with the delay, Perry will be stepping through the ropes instead. The 32-year-old has a mixed martial arts record of 22 wins and eight losses, but his only foray into professional boxing was a 2015 knockout loss to Kenneth McNeil at super-middleweight. He will face the YouTuber-turned-fighter at the cruiserweight limit of 200lbs.

Speaking to the media ahead of the bout this weekend in Tampa, Florida, Paul said there was zero chance he loses and ruins the plans to face ‘Iron’ Mike.

“It’s not gonna happen man. It’s no possible so I can’t even answer that question, I know I’m gonna win with ease.”

Asked if he had spoken to Tyson about taking this fight in the interim, Paul revealed that the 57-year-old – who had to postpone the initial date because of an ulcer flare-up – has expressed concern.

“He’s doing good, he’s back to training. He was concerned with me taking this fight. He’s like, ‘what is Jake thinking? This guy Mike Perry’s a killer.’ So he has some concerns but Tyson my message to you is don’t worry, I’m gonna put this guy to sleep. This is a Mike appetiser and you’re next.”

Paul and Tyson are now set to face off on November 15 in an event that will be shown on streaming giant Netflix and feature the rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.
