Mike Tyson spent sixteen minutes in the ring with YouTuber-turned-fighter Jake Paul and has now commented on how hard the 27-year-old punches.

Paul has had 12 contests in the sport, winning all but one. Despite being noticeably green and, in the eyes of many well-qualified viewers, lacking good fundamentals, there is little doubt he can load up and hit hard.

Of his 11 wins, he has seven stoppages, one being former UFC star Tyron Woodley that earned him ESPN’s Knockout of the Year award.

Thankfully, Paul wasn’t able to stop 58-year-old Tyson during their recent controversial main event in Arlington, Texas. That does not mean it was competitive, however, with ‘Iron’ Mike unable to deliver any sort of action or entertainment past the first round.

Whilst Paul wasn’t touched enough to really comment on the heavyweight veteran’s power, he did land his own punches. Speaking with FOX Sports Radio, Tyson was asked to rate the power he felt and could sum it up in three words – Jake punches hard.

“I don’t remember it, but my body, my chest, stomach and stuff was really sore … Jake punches hard. My body hurt so bad.”

There was a genuine concern beforehand that Tyson was putting himself in danger by taking the fight. He seems in good health in the aftermath, but no true fan wants to see him risk that again and the news of his now second retirement was welcome.

Paul moves ahead as one of the most discussed, lucrative and divisive names in the sport of boxing.
