Jake Paul is just two weeks away from making his long return to the ring.
The 28-year-old YouTube sensation from Cleveland, Ohio will face Mexico’s former WBC world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on Saturday June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
It will be one of the few times in Paul’s career that he has faced a professional boxer, after spending the majority of his tenure matching up with MMA stars such as Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva.
His last outing came at the end of 2024 when he faced the now retired heavyweight icon Mike Tyson, defeating the 58-year-old via unanimous decision after their controversial eight round showdown at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Speaking to Fight Hype, Tyson was asked to share his thoughts on Paul’s upcoming bout against Chavez Jr, summing the intriguing contest up in just one word.
“Beautiful.”
Should Paul be victorious over Chavez Jr at the end of the month, it will move him one step closer to achieving his career-long dream of becoming a legitimate world champion and proving his many doubters wrong.
Another potential opportunity for ‘The Problem Child’ is a bout against reigning WBA world lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, with both fighters said to be in negotiations for a shock catchweight fight that could take place before the end of 2025, although this looks to be dependent on Davis’ upcoming rematch against Lamont Roach Jr, which is scheduled to happen on August 16.
