Mike Tyson Says There Is One World Champion Who Nobody Can Beat And It’s Not Terence Crawford

Mike Tyson believes there is just one reigning world champion that could remain unbeaten for the duration of their professional career.

‘Iron Mike’ had an exceptional career of his own, entering the paid ranks as an 18-year-old back in 1985 where he proved to be a serious threat to the heavyweight division within a matter of months.

He won his first 19 bouts via stoppage, including 12 wins inside the opening round before he defeated Trevor Berbick in emphatic fashion to capture the WBC title and become the youngest world heavyweight champion of all time.

Tyson would go on to achieve further success in the year that followed his historic victory over Berbick, defeating WBA champion James Smith and IBF champion Tony Tucker to capture the undisputed heavyweight championship just one month after his 21st birthday.

Speaking to ESNEWS, Tyson gave plaudits to reigning WBC light-heavyweight champion David Benavidez, as he backs the unbeaten American star against ‘everybody’ he faces.

“I like him against everybody.

“He’s so underrated but so over-polarised here. Listen, I’d be afraid to fight him too if I was in that division. No one even has a chance against him, and I’m talking facts.”

Benavidez was elevated from interim status to full WBC light-heavyweight champion earlier this year after former title holder Dmitry Bivol opted to vacate the belt.

The 28-year-old from Phoenix is set to make his long-awaited return to the ring later this year as he gears up to make the first defence of his WBC world title against Britain’s Anthony Yarde at the ANB Arena in Riyadh on Saturday November 22.
