The 59th bout on Mike Tyson‘s boxing record is a loss to Jake Paul.

The youngest ever heavyweight champion returned to the ring at 58-years-old to face Paul, 27, over eight two-minute rounds.

After a bombastic promotion, the main event action failed to match the hype, with Tyson struggling after a minute or so and Paul then cruising to a unanimous decision win.

Post-fight, many fans and some prominent names in the sport, including Oscar De La Hoya and Carl Froch, have suggested the outcome of the fight was pre-arranged.

Speaking to ES News, ‘Iron’ Mike’s son, Amir Tyson, said any claims that the heavyweight icon followed a plan are ‘weird’ and that he just ‘gassed out.’

“I knew he was gonna be able to take Jake’s punches. In boxing you never know what’s gonna happen. In my honest opinion, I know people are saying whatever about the fight, I think he just gassed out.

It was none of that [scripted claims] – I get so tired of hearing that. When people say that, where’s the proof? Give me factual proof. That’s a felony. That’s a federal crime. It was weird, but we know the game. We know how people believe everything they hear real quick. It’s too much. You can’t change people’s opinions sometimes.

In my opinion, like we said before, when you’re a little older, you have to go for the kill quicker because of the gas tank.”

Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s company, has come out staunch defence of the legitimacy of the bout.
