Mike Tyson has had a change of heart when it comes to this weekend’s Canelo vs. Terence Crawford showdown.

After months of build-up, Canelo and Crawford will finally meet at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with ‘Bud’ stepping up two weight divisions to challenge the Mexican superstar for his undisputed super-middleweight crown.

It brings together two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, with Crawford a four-weight world champion and two-weight undisputed champion, while Canelo is also a four-weight world champion and a two-time undisputed champion at 168lbs.

The mega-fight has garnered plenty of predictions from some of the sport’s biggest names, with former heavyweight king Tyson one of those who made his thoughts perfectly clear from an early stage.

Speaking recently on The Big Podcast with Shaq, Tyson revealed that while he wanted Crawford to win, he felt Canelo would have too much to offer.

“I want Crawford to win, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. I would like for it to happen, [but] this guy [Canelo] is a hard puncher, he’s a smart fighter. I want to see it.”

With the fight now just a few days away, Tyson has made a U-turn and altered his pick, as revealed by ESPN in their list of expert predictions.

“Crawford by decision.”

Victory for Crawford would see him become the first male fighter in history to become undisputed in three divisions after already achieving it at super-lightweight and welterweight.

Tyson isn’t the only man to make a U-turn on his prediction, with fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr also recently doing similar.
