Mike Tyson made a sensational return to the ring against the controversial Jake Paul last November.
The 58-year-old heavyweight icon from New York locked horns with the Youtuber-turned-boxer at the AT&T Stadium in Texas on November 15.
Much to the frustration of boxing fans around the world, Tyson resumed his professional career after just shy of two decades out of the ring, with his last outing coming against Ireland’s Kevin McBride in the summer of 2005, suffering a sixth round stoppage defeat in the process.
Despite being over 30-years younger than ‘Iron’ Mike, Paul failed to get the stoppage victory over the former undisputed heavyweight champion on the night, although the 28-year-old has been credited for having considerable punching power and even received plaudits from Tyson after their bout.
Ahead of Paul’s next fight against former WBC world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Tyson told Fox Sports Radio, that the Youtube star ‘punches hard’ and that his ‘body hurt so bad’ after the fight.
“I don’t remember it, but my body, my chest, stomach and stuff was really sore … Jake punches hard. My body hurt so bad.”
‘The Problem Child’ faces Chavez later this month at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
Victory over the former champion could see Paul move a step closer to achieving his dream of winning a legitimate world title, but the 28-year-old from Cleveland is expected to win in impressive fashion if he is to earn himself a world title shot.
