Mike Tyson has revealed the one man he is interesting in facing after his upcoming exhibition clash with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
It was revealed last September that former undisputed heavyweight champion Tyson would be facing countryman ‘Money’ Mayweather in the first quarter of 2026.
Tyson made a sensational return to the sport in November of 2024, suffering a comprehensive unanimous decision defeat to Jake Paul at the conclusion of their controversial heavyweight showdown in Arlington, Texas.
As for Mayweather, the 48-year-old from Michigan has not fought as a professional since he defeated Conor McGregor in August 2017, but the retired five-weight world champion has participated in a number of exhibition bouts since then.
Speaking to The Mirror recently, Tyson revealed that he is ‘confident’ heading into his clash with Mayweather, before revealing that he would be open to facing Paul in a potential rematch.
“I’m getting more and more confident, and I believe I’ll be better in the [Mayweather] fight coming up … I’m just hoping, after this Floyd fight, maybe we can have a rematch. Yes, I would be interested in that.”
Tyson was quite clearly a shadow of his once formidable self when he clashed with ‘The Problem Child’, connecting with just 18 of the punches that he threw at the former Youtube sensation.
Despite this, the 59-year-old from New York City appears to be set on proving a point when he faces ‘Money’ Mayweather in what ‘Iron Mike’ claims will be the ‘biggest event in boxing history’.
