Moses Itauma’s highly anticipated return to the ring has been confirmed as he gears up to face a well known American contender.

The 20-year-old from Kent has emerged as one of the most exciting heavyweight prospects in the sport with many fans and analysts considering him to be the ‘future of the division’.

He remains unbeaten in 13 bouts since making his professional debut back in January of 2023, with 11 of these victories coming inside the scheduled distance.

Itauma last appeared back in August when he stopped countryman Dillian Whyte in the opening round of their clash at the ANB Arena in Riyadh to cement his status as the number one contender with the WBA and the WBO.

As revealed by Queensberry Promotions, Itauma will make his highly-anticipated return on Saturday January 24 when he locks horns with America’s Jermaine Franklin at the Coop Live Arena in Manchester, England.

Franklin has suffered just two defeats during his career to date, falling short on points to two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and also losing a decision to former WBC interim heavyweight champion Whyte.

Itauma had been in line to face WBA regular heavyweight title holder Kubrat Pulev next, but this bout was shelved after it was revealed that the Bulgarian champion would be facing former unified cruiserweight champion Murat Gassiev instead.

The 20-year-old will be hoping that he can secure himself a world title shot before the end of next year, although it remains to be seen whether he will go on to face undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk at any stage in the near future.
