Moses Itauma has made a big decision in regards to a potential showdown with Oleksandr Usyk.

Itauma is widely regarded as one of the best prospects in all of boxing, with the 20-year-old having put together an undefeated record of 13-0 to date, 11 of those victories coming by knockout.

He has stopped the likes of Demsey McKean and Mariusz Wach, and last time out picked up the biggest victory of his career when he needed less than 120 seconds to claim a first round knockout victory over former world title challenger Dillian Whyte.

In the aftermath to that bout in August, Itauma stated that he would be happy to jump straight into a clash with Usyk, who is the current undisputed heavyweight champion following his victory over Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in July.

It appears a fight with Usyk may have to wait though, after it was reported that Itauma had rejected an IBF final eliminator with Frank Sanchez, where a victory would have seen him become the mandatory challenger to the Ukrainian.

Sanchez has only suffered one defeat in his career against highly rated Agit Kabayel, and has 18 knockouts from his 25 victories.

Itauma was presented the opportunity to face the Cuban after Efe Ajagba first turned down the fight with Sanchez, with it now set to be offered to American Richard Torrez Jr instead.

Despite rejecting the final eliminator with the IBF, Itauma remains as the WBO number one ranked contender, so may choose to go down that route as he bids to move into world title contention in the near future.

He is set to return to action on December 13 in Manchester, on a card that is also scheduled to feature Derek Chisora in a separate fight.
