Former multi weight champion and future Hall of Famer “Sugar” Shane Mosley, 49-9-1-(41), scored a 10th round knockout over southpaw Patrick “El Elegante” López, 23-6-(14), at the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama City, Panama on Thursday night.
Lopez was decked in round two but came back strongly to even things up until 44 year-old Mosley’s experience took over in the 10th round. Mosley stepped up the pace and knocked Lopez down three times before the fight was stopped after 2:00.
On the same card WBA super flyweight champ Luis “Nica” Concepcion, 34-4-(24), made a successful defence of his title with a clear 12 round unanimous decision win over Hernan Marquez, 39-7-1-(28). Concepcion’s dominance was reflected in the 120-107, 120-107 and 120-109, scoreline. Marquez previously defeated Concepcion twice.
In a Super featherweight bout Jezreel “El Invisible” Corrales, 19-1-(7), won the vacant WBA “interim” super featherweight title with an 11th round stoppage win over Juan Antonio “Zurdo” Rodriguez.
