Hall of Famer Shane Mosley has shared his verdict on the controversial upcoming clash between Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul.
Reigning WBA world lightweight champion ‘Tank’ Davis is set to face Paul on Friday November 14, now set for Miami rather than the originally announced location of Atlanta.
Davis made his most recent ring appearance earlier this year when he drew with fellow countryman Lamont Roach Jr at the conclusion of their controversial bout at the Barclays Center in New York City.
As for Paul, the 28-year-old Cleveland-native racked up his latest victory back in June when he defeated Mexico’s former WBC world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr via unanimous decision.
One man that has worked closely with Paul in the past is three-weight world champion Mosley, who spent some time coaching ‘The Problem Child’ during the earlier stages of his professional career which began in 2020.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Mosley admitted that whilst he believes the clash between Davis and Paul is a ‘great fight’, he avoids making a definitive prediction on who he thinks will walk away victorious.
“See I can’t say this anymore, I’m banned from making these predictions about guys being bigger, I banned myself. I don’t even want to make a prediction anymore but I would say that Jake is too big, but then at the same time Tank is just more experienced and can move around, but yeah it’s a great fight, I don’t know.”
Concerns have been raised about the American duo sharing the ring with each other later this year, especially considering the significant size advantage between them, which could play a key role on fight night.
