Confidence is a king in the boxing ring.
A good run of results, coming through tough rounds and stopping opponents can all give a fighter a huge boost in their career, as well as winning them new fans.
That’s the stage Martin Bakole is at right now. Often referred to as one of the most avoided heavyweights on the planet, he has struggled to lure big names into the ring with him. He holds no belt and doesn’t offer a huge pay day so few have wanted to face a man that has stopped the likes of Carlos Takam and dished out plenty of hurt in sparring.
Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans he was asked how he felt about the win and what it has done for his career.
“I’m the most dangerous, most avoided man in the world. I show it to everyone. Don’t doubt Marin Bakole anymore, come and watch my fights, come and support me. No more time to play. People say I’m the next George Foreman so I’m ready to knock them out.”
He was then asked about the upcoming IBF world title fight between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois in September and restated his desire to face the winner, in particular Joshua.
“Good luck to them and I think the winner should not avoid me anymore because even that fight in the UK is Riyadh Season so I think I will get the winner of that. The best must win but I hope Joshua wins the fight.”
