Prince Naseem Hamed has given his thoughts on the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois.

This fight between these two heavyweight champions will be the second undisputed contest in the division in a little over a year. It also presents Uysk with the chance of achieving a world first in boxing, and that is to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion, having already been undisputed down at cruiserweight.

He comes into it never having lost in the professional ring and off the back of two wins over Anthony Joshua, and two more over Tyson Fury. In between those wins in August 2023, he also beat Dubois by 9th-round KO, but not before being hit with a shot that had him on the canvas, only to be ruled low and given time to recover.

Speaking to The Stomping Ground, ‘Prince Naz’ was asked about the rematch and backed his countryman.

“Triple D baby all day, every day.

In my eyes, Triple D is the only one who has ever hurt Usyk and put him down on the floor and made him think, and he was down there for like three, four minutes.

Who’s to say once he fights Uysk again he won’t go out there and absolutely destroy him and bring our belts back to our country like it’s supposed to be.”

The fight takes place on July 19 at Wembley and will be Dubois’s first contest since he stopped Anthony Joshua to defend his IBF strap back in September.
