Jake Paul will take the next step in his boxing career when he faces Gervonta Davis later this year.
The two men will meet at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday 14 November, with it currently unconfirmed whether the bout will be an exhibition or an official professional contest.
It’s a fight that has been met with mixed reviews from fans, due to many believing that WBA lightweight champion Davis should instead be taking on fellow elite fighters in his weight class.
That isn’t the case though, with ‘Tank’ preparing to take on a man in Paul who is eight inches taller and weighed nearly 70lbs heavier than him when ‘The Problem Child’ took part in his last fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in June.
One of the lightest that Paul weighed in his career came in August 2023, when he came in at 185lbs for a clash against former UFC star Nate Diaz, with the YouTuber-turned-boxer claiming a 10-round unanimous decision victory.
Diaz has now offered his take on the fight between his former rival and Davis, revealing to Clocked n Loaded what he makes to the contest.
“Gervonta is a f**king great boxer but he ain’t going to do sh*t against Jake Paul.
I don’t got anybody [in the fight] but I don’t want to beat up somebody that small. I don’t want to lose to somebody that small either. It’s a great fight actually, I’m not hating on the fight, but my thoughts are let’s watch and see what happens.”
Another of Paul’s former foes was fellow ex-UFC fighter Mike Perry, and he has also made his prediction for the upcoming clash.
