Carl Froch and Darren Till have been going back and forth all week, and now Johnny Nelson has weighed in on the potential match-up.

Froch has been retired for more than 11 years. His last fight was arguably his best when he stopped George Groves with a superb right hand to retain his super middleweight world championship.

He has remained involved in boxing as a pundit and commentator and has struck up some beef with former UFC star turned boxer Till, who called Froch out after brutally knocking out ex-UFC middleweight title-holder Luke Rockhold inside three rounds at Misfits Boxing 22.

The potential fight has generated plenty of talk online, but speaking to Boxing King Media, former cruiserweight world champion Nelson suggested Froch is too happy in retirement to agree to the fight, but if he did he would ‘smash’ the former MMA fighter.

“If Carl did do it, I think Carl would smash him, but I don’t think he would do it. He’s got that memory, he’s got that something about him, he’s at that age where he’s still physically fit and strong enough if he commits himself to the preparation for it.

“But at 48 you get to a certain age where you think I don’t need this. You just think I don’t need this. You need a negotiable. Fire in your belly to train and go through the training camp. Carl is a nutter but I don’t think he’ll do that.”

If it were to happen, many believe that Froch who have far too much for Till, despite being 16 years older than him and a long time out of the ring.
