Francis Ngannou is one of a few men to have shared a ring with Tyson Fury and see him fall to the canvas in front of him.

The former UFC star and so-called hardest puncher on the planet took on ‘The Gypsy King’ in a highly publicised bout in October 2023. It was seen as a mismatch by many in the boxing world but French-Cameroonian Ngannou soon put paid to that.

In the third round, he landed a huge right hand that rocked then felled Fury, who at the time was the WBC champion and recognised as one of the best heavyweights on the planet.

Fury rallied and did enough to claim a points victory at the conclusion of the 10th and final round. With newfound confidence despite the narrow loss, the boxing debutant went on to a second fight with Anthony Joshua but was quickly demolished via second round knockout.

Speaking this week to Boxing King Media, Ngannou was asked for his prediction on Fury’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

“This fight can go either way but if you ask me more I would go for Tyson even though I think after the first one it’s hard not to give it to Usyk, but I will give it to Fury.”

He was then asked if the win would come by points or knockout.

“Either one.”

The rematch comes seven months after the pair first fought back in May. That was the first undoubted contest for some 25 years and saw the Ukrainian southpaw take a points win, which he will be hoping to repeat out in Saudi Arabia again this weekend.
