Lawrence Okolie has sparred with both Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker and has now shared some insight as to how their IBF world title fight might go.

Dubois and Parker are set to come to blows on February 22 in Saudi Arabia, and both men are in fine form. Dubois has come of age with stoppage wins over Jarrell Miller, Fillip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua in his last three fights.

Parker meanwhile is more seasoned, a former WBO champion, but is also enjoying a great run after beating Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang in his last two. He says, at 33, he is just getting started.

Speaking to Seconds Out ahead of his debut at heavyweight late last year, former cruiserweight world champion Okolie was asked for his views on the contest.

“I think it’s a great fight. They’re really putting Dan in there, fight after fight after fight, hard fights. I think Joseph Parker stylistically could cause him a lot of problems with his speed and experience. He’s been in there with the likes of Wilder and Zhang, two massive punchers. Dan’s got great power but it’s not something he hasn’t seen before.”

He then made a cautious prediction and sided with the champion.

“I think Dan is on a roll right now so I do favour Dan, but I can just see how Parker could nullify and work his way to a points decision.”

For the victor, a potential huge clash with Oleksandr Usyk awaits to decide once more the undisputed four-belt ruler of the division.

Okolie meanwhile has recently been linked with a fight in the UK against Cuba’s Luis Ortiz.
