Oleksandr Usyk cemented himself as the greatest heavyweight of his generation after defeating Tyson Fury for the second time last month.

The 38-year-old Ukrainian southpaw successfully defended his unified WBC, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles with a unanimous decision victory over ‘The Gypsy King’ on December 21, just seven months after their historic first meeting in May which saw Usyk crowned the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the ‘four belt era’.

With impressive victories over Fury, as well as Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, the Ukrainian superstar has all but confirmed his intentions to continue his glittering career as he bids to make even more history for himself in 2025.

It appears that Usyk has set his sights on becoming a two-time undisputed champion, as he eagerly awaits the result of the IBF heavyweight title showdown between Dubois and Joseph Parker, which takes place on February 22 in Riyadh.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, promoter Frank Warren revealed Usyk’s plans following a recent conversation he had with the heavyweight superstar.

“Oleksandr told me at the weekend he will fight the winner of Daniel v Joseph Parker to try to become undisputed heavyweight champion a second time.”

The opportunity to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion is clearly too significant and historic for Usyk to turn down.

Another option for Usyk is a return to the cruiserweight division. He has expressed interest in the drop back down before and was recently called out by reigning IBF champion Jai Opetaia, who declared his interest in facing the Ukrainian star just minutes after his victory over David Nyika earlier this month.
