Oleksandr Usyk Finally Reveals Who He Will Fight Next

Oleksandr Usyk recently said that he will fight for around three more years.

The Ukrainian icon, who is 38-years-old and has 24 wins from 24 fights, is currently in his second stint as undisputed heavyweight world champion following a rematch win over Daniel Dubois. That KO victory marked his second time toppling the big-punching Brit having already done the double over both Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

Having won every belt at both cruiser and heavyweight, many felt Usyk would now be considering retirement, but the champion himself recently revealed he plans to fight on. Head of Team Usyk, Sergey Lapin, recently told the Ring Magazine that his man could have as many as five more fights. He revealed that the frontrunner for next is the winner of this weekend’s clash between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley, which will be called as his WBO mandatory defence.

Parker, a former world champion, faces knockout artist Wardley as London’s O2 Arena – a high stakes heavyweight main event that will have big ramifications for the division. If Usyk – who was previously granted a medical delay to ordered negotiations with Parker – decides against facing the winner, they will be elevated to full champion.

In the report, Lapin was also asked about the potential of a trilogy fight with Tyson Fury. ‘The Gypsy King’ has been in retirement since his second loss to Usyk, but is expected to return in 2026. Whilst fans want to see him in with Joshua, Fury recently informed his promoter Frank Warren that he wants a third crack at Usyk. Lapin says that, for him, that chapter is closed.
