Mike Tyson‘s controversial fight with Jake Paul is a matter of weeks away.
The build-up to this one has been drawn out after the original July fight date was postponed because Tyson suffered a medical issue.
It now takes place across eight two-minute rounds in Arlington, Texas, live on Netflix on November 15 when the 58-year-old former world heavyweight king takes on the 12-1 boxing novice who is just 27.
Those facts mean many people are divided as to who will come out on top – the fit and youthful prospect or the ageing but hugely experienced legend.
Speaking to FightHub TV, Oscar De La Hoya was asked for his assessment of the fight.
“Tyson is still Tyson right, that never changes, he still has the power, the power never leaves you, your reflexes leave you, your speed a little, your conditioning.
“I’m actually looking forward to it, Jake Paul, he’s moving up, he’s becoming a better fighter, this fight here, the fact he’s focused and determined and he’s going up against the great Mike Tyson. It takes him to another level.”
He then made a prediction without siding with either man.
“If it’s before three, four rounds, I have to go with Tyson by knockout, that one punch knockout, if it goes past four rounds, I have to worry about Tyson’s conditioning, and where Jake Paul’s youth can take over. I’ve seen Jake Paul’s videos, he looks big, he looks huge. So whatever spray he’s taking, it’s working.”
