Oscar De La Hoya Says There Is One Former Welterweight Champion Who Would KO Terence Crawford

Oscar De La Hoya has backed a boxing legend to knock out pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford in an intriguing fantasy showdown.

‘Bud’ Crawford cemented his place in the boxing history books last month when he defeated Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez to capture the undisputed super-middleweight championship in their historic clash at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The 38-year-old from Nebraska put on an outstanding display against Canelo to become the first male fighter ever to win an undisputed world championship in three weight classes, a feat he has already accomplished at super-lightweight and welterweight.

Another legendary fighter who has enjoyed considerable success during their campaign at welterweight is Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao, who has captured a version of the world title at 147lbs on four occasions during his professional career to date.

In a feature with Mail Sport, legendary fighter-turned-promoter De La Hoya, who was beaten by ‘PacMan’ back in 2008, was asked to predict the outcome of a fantasy clash between his former rival and ‘Bud’ Crawford.

“At their prime, Pacquiao knockout.”

Pacquiao made a sensational return to the ring back in July after taking a four year hiatus from the sport, fighting to a majority draw against reigning WBC world welterweight champion Mario Barrios at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

‘PacMan’ is expected to return to the ring once again in the upcoming months, as reports suggest that he could potentially face WBA world welterweight champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero next.
