By Raphael Baker: Gennady ‘GGG Golovkin’ is due to defend his WBO, IBO and IBF middleweight title against unbeaten middle weight title challenger Dominic Wade this weekend in Inglewood California. Before he steps into the ring against Wade this Saturday, Golovkin was very vocal about the unbeaten pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather jr. The pound for pound King recently said that if he faced Golovkin it would be easy work.
Golovkin recently responded to Mayweather’s comment. “He says I’m easy work. Please, bring… Show me the easy work! I love easy money and easy work! Please give me.”
Mayweather is adamant that he has no intentions of returning to the ring but most boxing experts believe he will return to the ring at some point. If Mayweather decides to come out of retirement, Golovkin is willing to squeeze down to the Jr middleweight limit (154) to make the fight happen. Golovkin continued to express his feelings about Mayweather’s performance against Marcus Maidana.
“I think Floyd and his father [Floyd Mayweather Sr.] knows I’m a very serious boxer. I don’t like ping pong, his style. I like style like Oscar De La Hoya. I like true fights. I feel my power. I feel my style. I saw his fight against Maidana. I remember Floyd was dancing a little bit… I have a big chance to knock him out.”
