Manny Pacquiao Called Out By Former UK World Champion: “I’d KO Him Like Marquez Did”

Manny Pacquiao could be set for another sensational ring return before the year is out.

Pacquiao is one of the most celebrated boxers in the sport and an icon around the world. The Filipino who served as a senator in his homeland between 2016 and 2022 is the only eight-division world champion in boxing history.

He won the lineal championship in the flyweight, featherweight, super featherweight and light welterweight divisions and is the only man to ever have held world championships across four decades.

He is now 47 years old and has had a total of 72 fights, winning 62 of them, with 39 by way of knockout, but has been linked with former world champion Joe Cordina on the undercard of Tyson Fury’s fight with Anthony Joshua.

Speaking to iFL TV, Cordina expressed his eagerness to fight the ‘Pacman’ in December.

“It’s crazy to think that potentially I could be in the ring with him. Don’t get me wrong and don’t get this twisted, if this was to happen then yeah, he’s one of my favourite fighters and it would be an honour to share the ring with him, but I’m going to try and leave him like Marquez left him in his last fight with him.

“There’s no being in awe in the ring, I’m going to look to do a job but at the same time he’s still experienced. Yeh he’s not the fighter he once was, the last thing they lose is power, it would still be f****ing a hard fight.”

Pacquiao last fought in July 2025 when he drew with Mario Barrios, while Welshman Cordina is a two-time super-featherweight world champion who was last out in December when he beat Gabriel Flores Jr on points.
